Elektromontage receives the "DI Gasell" Award thanks to employee commitment

When Elektromontage grows, it does so together. Together with its customers – but above all, with its employees, who every day contribute to developing the company, its culture and its future.

Now, this growth has been recognised with Dagens Industri’s Gasell Award, and Deputy CEO Lucas Karlsson is grateful to everyone who has made the strong growth journey possible.

Each year, Dagens Industri highlights Sweden’s fastest-growing companies through the Gasell Award – a distinction given to businesses that have successfully doubled their turnover within four years, in a profitable and sustainable way.

This year, Elektromontage is among the proud recipients, via its parent company Dockgärdet Holding, with Elektromontage being the clear driving force behind the growth.

“It’s a fun and rewarding recognition that things are going well and moving forward, especially for a company that’s been around as long as we have,” says Deputy CEO Lucas Karlsson, a third-generation member of the family business.

Elektromontage has been based in the idyllic town of Söderköping since the late 1960s and is today a global supplier within power generation and marine automation. The company is in a constant state of development, something that this award now stands as proof of.

Our employees are the key
For Lucas, it’s clear what has made the growth possible – namely all the employees at Elektromontage.

“We have incredibly skilled employees who step up, take responsibility, and solve problems. We have a culture where challenges are tackled together, and where helping each other is second nature, regardless of role or department. That’s a huge strength,” says Lucas Karlsson.

To create the best possible conditions, Elektromontage has invested heavily in its people. Team leaders and managers have received training in leadership and self-leadership, and the HR function has been expanded to support both individuals and the organisation.

“We’re constantly working to communicate our goals more clearly and to show how each person contributes to the bigger picture. It’s not just a management issue, it’s something we all do together,” says Lucas Karlsson.

For Elektromontage, the Gasell Award is therefore not only a recognition of the company, but proof of what an engaged team can achieve together.

“This award belongs to all our employees. It’s their perseverance, creativity, and drive to deliver that allow us to keep developing every single day,” says Lucas Karlsson.

Growing together with customers
All of Elektromontage works closely with its customers – often global industrial companies – and has grown organically alongside their needs.

“We continuously identify new business and product areas together with our customers. One example is a product we now manufacture for a client in Hungary, which they previously produced in-house. It deepens the collaboration and builds trust,” says Lucas Karlsson.

Growth is also driven by major societal shifts such as electrification, AI development and the global expansion of data centres. The demand for electricity is increasing dramatically, and Elektromontage’s customers are fully booked for years ahead, something that opens up many new opportunities for collaboration.

More expertise needed going forward
Elektromontage has no plans to slow down but continues to invest in its operations – from digitalisation and machinery development to, above all, the continuous focus on its people.

To continue growing sustainably, more people will be needed who want to help shape the power systems of the future.

“We’ll be growing on all fronts and are looking for designers, project managers, assemblers, and leaders. We also hope that the Gasell Award will spark curiosity about everything happening within our walls here in Söderköping,” concludes Lucas Karlsson.
