Over the past year, Elektromontage has taken another step in its growth journey. In Västerås, a brand-new production facility has been established - from an empty space to a fully operational site with production, warehousing and logistics. For the past six months, the facility has been running at full capacity, with switchgear production as its main focus.

The new production unit in Västerås covers 300 square meters and currently employs a team of seven. The primary focus is the production of switchgear for a local customer. When capacity allows, additional assignments are integrated into production, such as smaller connection boxes.

The decision to establish operations in Västerås was no coincidence. A key factor was the customer’s request for a local partner - something Elektromontage was able to meet by building a new operation on site.

From startup to full-scale production

Marco Gradenäs, team leader in Västerås, joined the company a year ago - at the same time the new facility began to take shape. He brings experience from a similar role at a former partner of Elektromontage.

“I’m responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly - planning, ensuring we have the right materials and resources. I support the entire team so that production flows efficiently. We work closely with Söderköping, and they step in if we need materials or additional support.”

Although production is local, the organization is integrated. Functions such as HR, engineering and sales are based in Söderköping, and collaboration between locations is a natural part of the workflow.

Driven by development and growth

Building something from the ground up requires both structure and pace - something that suits Marco well.

“I’m a doer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. There should be a bit of pressure and intensity.”

Right now, the focus is on fine-tuning production processes and routines. Finding the right balance in consumables, workflows and structure is key to creating long-term stability.

“And of course, the goal is to continue growing.”

With Västerås as a new establishment, Elektromontage strengthens both its presence and flexibility - an investment that not only meets current customer needs but also creates new opportunities for the future.
